How to Make a Monopod
Monopods are getting popular nowadays. You use it for your digital camera, GoPro and even cellphone. If you're working on a small budget, here are DIY instructions for making your own monopod
- 1Find a suitable candidate for your monopod. Anything telescopic like a micro-fiber mop handle will be especially convenient.
- For heavier loads like DSLR cameras you're going to need something stronger that isn't telescopic.
- You can also use a broom with a metal handle.
- 2Remove the parts you will not use.
- 3Cut it to size.
- 4Obtain a mini-tripods. If you have a broken one just scrap the parts you're going to need, such as the mount.
- You can use an old clamp lamp too.
- If you have some spare tripods those will work as well.
- 5Separate the tripod head from the legs.
- 6Drill a 1/4 hole on the tripod head.
- 7Drill a hole on the end of the mop as well.
- 8Grab a can of spray paint and color it silver.
- 9Using a 1/4 screw, join the head and the mop handle together.
- 10Mount your camera on the monopod.
- 11Enjoy your monopod. This monopod will work great with any portable camera.
